Vintage Style Muse Meryl Streep

It seems to be the norm now that I oscillate between feeling perfectly all right that I've barely just started to think about Fall/Winter for Atèlette and being in a state of mild to medium panic. I am a self-taught clothing designer starting and creating a clothing line from scratch with honestly, only an inkling of what to do. I have spoken to a couple of older women, who were designers in the 70s (how amazing!), and they both assured me, "It's better you didn't go to school, it's better you're self-taught, it's better you're not restricted to what you're supposed to be doing." Let's hope they're right.

I thought I would start sharing some of my inspirations & mood boards here instead of just keeping them in folders on my computer. Part of the purpose of this is so I can easily see my inspirations and mood boards in one place instead of all over the place on my various devices. Another purpose is so you can just see the process and maybe when you purchase one of my designs, you'll be able to look back on these posts and go "Ahh that's where the idea came from!" It would be fun, wouldn't it? I mean, I feel like that would be fun for me, so I'm doing it!

This week I am sharing some vintage style inspiration from the incredible Meryl Streep. I'm not really a movie or film buff, but I do gather so much inspiration from vintage films and the costuming. Hat tip to all the amazing stylists and costume designers! All right, enough prattle, let's get this show on the road!
