Cataloging Antique Lace
This afternoon I spent a couple hours cataloging various lace and trims from antique and vintage garments around the studio so I can easily reference them for inspiration for future concepts and developments. There are a couple dresses and tops I have made sketches of and nothing quite beats having the actual piece of lace to reference in front of me. While I will always hold antique and vintage garments on a pedestal, it is my hope that because my references are so close to home and personal, that my final designs bear a resemblance to the original source.
