Loungewear inspired by heirlooms
For a while now I have been wanting to create some loungewear pieces inspired by antique foundation garments. I want these pieces to feel substantial enough to be wearable outside the home, so the cotton will be not as lightweight as pajama or sleepwear. The intent is for these garments to be wearable on their own. The Miou Top with jeans, the Aveline Pants with a cropped top or loose button down.
I have been doing a lot of inspiration sourcing for embroidery lately and I am debating whether or not the embroidered versions of the Miou Top and Aveline Pantaloons are going to be too precious.
It's also easy for me to overdesign by wanting to add more lace trim, a couple self-ties, maybe a lace insert, but more ornamentation for the sake of it not only adds to the cost of the piece (without functionality) but it can also just start to make garments look a little too costume or cute, which is something I try to stay away from considering my inspirations are already so feminine and romantic.

V.1 - This version is focused on delicate pintuck pleats and a scallop eyelet lace trim.

V.2 - This version features sweet folk inspired floral embroidery on the top and fewer pintuck pleats. The same embroidery is replicated on the pants near the hem and less pintuck pleats.
