Lately I have been feeling a call to do more with Atèlette than just clothing. For me, anything I envelope myself in, there has to be heart, something deeper, something more meaningful. I have been feeling this tug to share more on topics relating to wellness, self-care, self-love, healing, and mindfulness but I do not feel qualified to teach or really even share advice on this. Perhaps it is because I struggle with all of it, which is why I have been putting into practice so many small mindful rituals, so I start creating good habits. I am finding my two-month long concerted effort thus far is proving fruitful. I feel lighter in spirit, clearer in mind, and less anxious.

Honestly, I want to bring more of this part of my human and soul journey into the fold of Atèlette, but I'm not sure how to do it. I love storytelling and so there is also a part of me wanting to add a "wellness brand" aspect to Atèlette without ascribing to the crunchy/hippie or quiet luxury beige aesthetic. Can a wellness brand even look like Atèlette?

Nostalgic, romantic, a brand that celebrates the divine feminine, sisterhood...without, and don't hate me for this, the crystals and witchery? I mean, unless the witches are the Owen sisters from Practical Magic, that kind of witchery I can get down with, well because, they're practical. The Atèlette wellness aesthetic would be a cross between an Eric Rohmer film, Little Women (the 1994 version, duh), and Practical Magic.

I'm someone that believes we give power to things because we're transferring belief. As Sally says in the movie "Your badge - it's just a star, just another symbol. Your talisman. It can't stop criminals in their tracks, can it? It has power because you believe it does." And that's kind of how I feel about crystals.

I'd rather find a beautiful stone on the beach or a small rock in the forest to attune to versus a crystal purchased in a crystal shop with thousands of other crystals. Don't you ever wonder where they're all made? It just feels really inauthentic to me. This probably makes sense why I'm someone that has a sustainable clothing line-- I like knowing the origin of things. The knowledge strengthens my belief and convictions.

I am, like usual, overthinking, and perhaps I should just go for it. Just share my wellness journey, the little things I have been doing, how they've affected me. Perhaps this doesn't have to come from a place of teaching you, but sharing with you, and perhaps it will inspire you to make these small changes in your everyday life and your way of thinking. I don't have any certifications, no qualifications other than I'm a fellow human being trying to do her best to live a good life, do some good in this world, and leave it a little better than I found it. What others do, honestly, is not within my control. But my own choices, my own actions, reactions, and how I choose to walk through the world and how I choose to show up, that's on me.

Anyhow, this was a bit rambling, and well, I've just had a birthday, and I spent a little over a week celebrating my birthday in small little ways each day and doing a lot of reflecting. I truly wanted to embrace aging, show gratitude for my body, my life, the fact I get to wake up and live another day, the sun is shining, flowers are blooming in my garden, bees are gathering pollen, hummingbirds rest and linger near me...life is magical. There is magic all around and I want to inspire others to tap more into this!

Thought (1 though)

Just a thought- perhaps some little embroidery patterns/ motifs? They would pair well with the aesthetic and the mission of slow fashion. You could maybe reach out to partner with some existing embroidery groups and do zoom meetings/ live streams of different decorations to add to your pieces to individualize them? Little daisies or hearts or whatever. It would help build community and add to a feeling of purpose maybe, and it can be inclusive of people who maybe want to just craft with others, they wouldn’t have to purchase something but it would raise awareness of your brand organically
