A lovely antique 1920s step-in chemise made from lightweight white cotton with a softly relaxed, flowing silhouette. Featuring wide shoulder straps, a gathered neckline with a functional drawstring tie, and delicate floral embroidery with openwork detailing across the front bodice. The loose, elongated shape falls to a gently scalloped hem, with an open step-in construction characteristic of early 20th-century undergarments. Beautiful worn as a lightweight summer dress or layered beneath other garments. This piece shows signs of its age, including small fabric tears/holes and areas of wear along the hem, as photographed, adding to its timeworn character.
